Hiya nerds, reptilesrul here. If you don't know who I am, I'd be a little sad, but won't take it personally. I'm one of the staff on the server, and I've been lurking since the days of Tybzi, so 1.12. It's been a long time lol. I've seen a lot of staff come, a lot of staff go, and I love working with the crazy bunch we have at the moment.
My life is split up in to a few different sections: Home, music, minecraft, and work. I've been living at home since the age of 0, making music since 6, playing minecraft since 16, and working since age 18. I'd like to think I have a pretty good balance between those four things, although I'm sure others would disagree with me (note to self, need to practice later)!
Home wise, I'm Australian. Aussie. Bogan. G'day m8. Whatever. Live at home and try to help out where I can. We're all a little crazy here. I'd love to move out when possible, but am grateful for the support it provides me with at the moment. My health has its ups and downs over time, as I have a number of chronic illnesses, but I try not to let this stop me! Adapt and overcome, right?
Music. Music's a huge part of my life, the biggest and most influential part. I primarily play piano, pipe organ, and percussion, and I sing. However, I love to dabble my toes in the other instrument families wherever and whenever I can. I'm a classically trained pianist, having been playing since age 6. I now mostly use this skill to help out at my old school, accompanying the choir and helping out with the bands, as well as when we put on musicals and go on tour.
I was introduced to the pipe organ through a scholarship offered to me when I was 13. Through learning the organ, I've been blessed enough to travel the world, playing some of the biggest and best organs out there. I was lucky enough to play the organs at St Sulpice and Notre Dame in Paris, the organ in Westminster Abbey, as well as the two largest instruments in the world in Atlantic City and Philadelphia, America, back in 2016. I've performed many times at the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall, as well as many other places around the country.
Currently, I bang things for a living. Playing percussion is my main focus at the moment. I'm part of a number of local ensembles, including three of the top concert and brass bands in Australia. It's an absolute blast, and I'm loving every bit of it. I've also been involved in a number of musicals - Les Mis, Wicked, Seussical the Musical, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, and am upcoming in Tarzan this year, all involved in the orchestra.
Working, I'm a bit of a chameleon. I'm heavily involved in market research - mystery shopping, auditing, interviewing, surveying, etc. I get paid to shop, and I (essentially) get paid to travel the country side. This line of work has taken me right around Australia multiple times, and I'm making the most of every opportunity I'm getting atm to travel.
As for the future? I'm just taking things one day at a time, seeing where life takes me. Here's to the future!
